Valerie Niver, Branch Manager for Texas First Rentals in Belton, TX, is one of the few female store managers in the traditionally male-dominated construction equipment rental industry.
Valerie is married to Matt Niver, a Field Service Supervisor in Georgetown, who has been with HOLT CAT for nearly 10 years. Valerie was drawn to the company by her husband’s positive experience. Originally from Buffalo, NY, with a background in sales, she found herself joining Texas First Rentals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As one of the few female store managers in the industry, Niver has faced unique challenges but has overcome them with determination and the unwavering support of her team and mentors. Her hard work and dedication led her to Operations Manager at the Pflugerville location, where her branch achieved an unprecedented record for equipment on rent followed by her current position in Belton. Every day is different for Valerie and that is one of her favorite parts of her job. It is fast paced and she loves supporting the 13 employees in her store – ranging in age from 20s to early 60s and she has doubled the store size.
Niver is passionate about empowering other women to enter the construction equipment rental industry. She believes that increased visibility of successful female leaders will inspire more women to pursue careers in this field.
